Simplify Tax Preparation and Filing
Last updated on August 26, 2023
Taxpayers worry about preparing their tax returns themselves or hiring a legitimate and competent tax preparer. Prior to e-filing, tax filing was a lengthy process where there was a greater chance for errors. Now, with electronic filing, more and more taxpayers are doing their taxes using the IRS’ efile. E-file makes it easier for taxpayers to file their tax returns. All they need to do is to visit this page and file their tax return.
E-filing of returns is safer than paper filing, as there is little possibility of loss or damage. Additionally, there is greater accuracy in e-filing. It also reduces the workload of taxpayers in posting paper returns to the IRS. As e-filing is faster, easier and safer, more and more taxpayers are choosing to e-file rather than paper file. Since electronic filing makes it easier for the IRS to process returns and issue refunds, they have been encouraging taxpayers to use this method for filing their returns.
Those taxpayers who cannot afford a professional tax preparer can use the IRS’ VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) program to get their return prepared for free. Using VITA, you may ensure that your return is free from errors. According to the IRS, “The Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA) program offers free tax help to people who generally make $52,000 or less, persons with disabilities, the elderly, and limited English-speaking taxpayers who need assistance in preparing their own tax returns. IRS-certified volunteers provide free basic income tax return preparation with electronic filing to qualified individuals.”
